SparkFind privacy information

SparkFind builds a local index of file and folder names, locations, sizes and modification dates. It does not read document contents to perform searches. Your searches, indexed paths and index database are not uploaded by the app.

The index and diagnostic logs are stored in your user Library, under Application Support/FastFinder. Logs can contain file paths and errors. They are not sent automatically. Review their contents before sharing them with support.

Distributed builds use Sparkle to check for and download app updates over HTTPS. These requests expose normal connection information, such as your IP address, and may identify the app and operating-system version. Optional Sparkle system profiling is disabled. Automatic checks can be enabled or disabled in the menu. Checking manually still connects to the update service.

There is no advertising, tracking SDK or automatic analytics upload in this build. Opening a search result launches the app associated with that file; that app has its own privacy behavior.

This beta is distributed directly. Ask the person who supplied it for support and the update hosting provider's privacy and log-retention information. Public distribution requires a published policy identifying the operator and support contact.

Send Diagnostics is optional. A local preview shows the exact report before you press Send. Only recognized event types, numeric counters, timings, randomized region identifiers, per-run session/operation identifiers, local launch and unclean-shutdown counters, and app/OS versions are included. Raw paths, file names and error messages are omitted. Reports are sent over HTTPS to diagnostics.sparkfind.app, stored privately, and deleted after 14 days (cleanup runs hourly). The service does not log request bodies or IP addresses; network providers, including Cloudflare, receive normal connection information. Nothing is sent automatically. A report code lets support locate your submission.
